SAW Club Returns

Mrs Patterson and Miss Hope’s SAW Club made a triumphant return on Tuesday night this week. SAW Club is an extra-curricular session run by the Design Technology team in which students are able to put into practice the knowledge that they are learning through their curriculum lessons. The first session was attended by students from across years 7 to 10 all of whom showed great passion for the subject, enthusiasm for the project, and most importantly the ability to work independently to problem solve issues around the designing and making aspects of the subject.

Students are starting the year with a project where they will make wooden boxes. As they progress they will have the chance to use a variety of equipment from power drills and scroll saws through to the department’s forge, which they will use to pewter cast. We’d like to wish the all the best of luck in their endeavours. What they produce will appear via our Twitter thread over the year.
